Jamie R. Elmore is the founder of the Bald Boss Community and Editor in Chief of Bald Life Magazine. She is also the owner of JSalon in Seattle, WA and has worked in the Industry for 31 years as a hairstylist. In 2004 she was diagnosed with alopecia, which is an autoimmune disease that attacks your hair follicle and causes your hair to fall out. 6.8 million people in the U.S. and 147 million people worldwide are affected with this disease.

Alopecia does not discriminate it can affect any age, gender or ethnicity at any time. Jamie knows first-hand it is not easy to live with this traumatic and life changing condition. It became evident that part of her purpose in life is to help people all over the world dealing with alopecia and hair loss to build self-esteem. 

 

The diagnosis also put her on a quest for internal health and wellness for herself and others. Jamie founded the Alopecia Support Group (ASG) in 2009 which aims to Empower, Support and Encourage survivors to LIVE OUT LOUD through their trauma which is essential and important to their survival. She is committed to providing innovative ways of healing that include but not limited to retreats, one-on-one and group coaching, writing, team building exercises, image and accessory workshops and global pen pals for those who suffer from mental and physical anguish due to hair loss.
